Catching Up on Christmas

A Family Shot!

Look what Santa brought Reece!

Well, we began our Christmas extravaganza by attending Christmas Eve service at Pinelake. Nick's parents and my parents came down to go with us. Nick had to work until 6, so he missed the service with us. It was still special, though. Then, our parents came back to our house where Reece opened his presents from them. He got a shopping cart, some play food (which may be his favorite thing), a Leap Frog laptop, a rollercoaster for outside (complete with 10 feet of track),a Boble (a therapy toy), and his very own chair from Pottery Barn. After the granddads struggled putting the shopping cart together, we sat down to eat chicken spaghetti, salad, and rolls. We had a great time, and then it was time for Santa Claus to come! Reece left him a gingerbread cookie and some sweet tea. Yeh, we were out of milk! I think Santa enjoyed the tea, though. The next morning, Reece awoke to all of his toys. I sat him down in the middle of everything, and he just looked around. Then, Nassau walked by, and Reece said in the sweetest voice, "Ook, Assau." So cute! He loved everything Santa brought, but he played with the magnetic chalkboard and letters and numbers for the majority of the morning. After playing or a little while, we headed to Carthage where we ate lunch with Nick's fam. Of course, more toys! He even got his very own MSU cowbell! Then to supper with my family... where he got MORE toys! We ate entirely too much at both places, and Reece was absolutely exhausted by the day's end. I finally have his playroom organized with all of the toys. We made a mad dash to Lowe's on the day after Christmas to purchase a shelf with bins. I came home, put it together, and went to organizing. I'm pretty proud of it!
I think we are finally catching up on our rest around here, and our schedule is slowly returning to normal. Now on to the big 2nd birthday in a couple of weeks!
With love,
Beth

Hey! Brody can't seem to bounce on the turtle either. We decided to buy him one of those Melissa and Doug rocking horses for his birthday. Maybe he'll actually be able to do this one. = )
