With 3 out of state trips, a school party, a NICU reunion, doctors' appointments, therapy, and Halloween, October has kept us extremely busy! Reece had his 2nd NICU reunion at Woman's Hospital last Sunday. While we didn't stay long, Reece really enjoyed watching everyone and had a blast on the train. He wasn't a huge fan of the clown or the Star Wars characters, but neither was Mama. Unfortunately, we didn't see any of the doctors or nurses that played a role in Reece's stay at the NICU, but there's always next year! Wednesday morning was Reece's fall party at school. He and I made pumpkin sugar cookies with chocolate chip faces, and they were a hit with the toddler crowd. Precious little Neali, the only girl in Reece's class, is such a little mother hen to Reece. When he was crying, she came over and rubbed his head, and you can see from the pictures where she helped him to put his crocs on when we were about to leave. So sweet! As of this morning, we are hopefully about 2 weeks away from getting Reece's walker. Apparently, the medical equipment supply company's fax machine doesn't always work, so there's been a delay in Dr. Denney being able to get the proper paperwork to them. I was told that the secretary was going to the clinic to pick it up, so hopefully we will hear something soon. In the mean time, he's still running with his vtech walker, and Beth, his PT, is super proud (as are we).
This afternoon we had an appointment with Dr. Veda, the neurologist. He was really pleased with Reece's progress and said we are on the right track. He also commented on how bright Reece is. **Brag, brag** We go back in 6 months just to follow up.
Tomorrow night we trick or treat! This year Reece will actually be able to get candy and eat it! Anyway, hope everyone has a great weekend!
With love,
Beth
